Waqar Qureshi is engaged in the climate and energy transition policy area following a career in the energy industry in technical, business, and strategy roles. Amongst other activities, Waqar advocates for bipartisan climate policies with Citizens’ Climate Lobby.
Prior to his current activities, Waqar was at Chevron Energy Technology Company where his responsibilities included directing Chevron’s technology alliances with NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Baker Hughes.
Waqar’s previous positions at Chevron included Vice President of Strategy, Planning and Business Support in Chevron Global Gas and Vice President of Commercial Development - Americas/Europe/Middle East/Africa in Chevron Global Power.
Waqar earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Sydney, Australia, and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
