This workshop allows participants to plan, act, and implement net zero efforts with future-state strategies. It will be able to describe their "new role" with changing and emerging business models that impact these efforts. We'll discuss and strategize on effective emissions tracking and reporting practices. With a clear focus on aligning with Canada's ambitious 2030 targets for emission reductions, this workshop aims to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among industry experts, regulators, operators, and technology leaders. You will also be able to identify and describe ways to maintain profitability and avoid risks while meeting the "Dynamic" targets and SEEGP lofty 2030 goals and compliance mandates.
As defined by the Federal and provincial governments, the net zero targets set for 2025 to 2030 and beyond will be difficult to achieve as currently defined.
Most organizations and well underway with GHG Protocol management. We must continue defining emission sources, improving transparency, and guidance for different types of companies, climate policies, and business goals around the four scopes (Scope 1, Scope 2, Scope 3, and Scope 4) accounting and reporting criteria.
The workshop focuses on assisting delegates in understanding the following:
- How to close the gaps and avoid SEEGP risk while enabling data transparency, collection, analysis, and reporting
- Managing the dynamic (SEEGP) driven changes to programs and processes
- Approach to maintain affordability and reliability with engaged participation across the value chain
- Understand the dependencies and roles of oil & gas operators, processes, and all interdependent assets.
Upon completing this workshop, you will be better positioned to align and protect your organization's needs, business processes, and programs in supporting the "dynamic" regulatory net zero framework.
Objectives:
- To empower the oil and gas industry to play a pivotal role in achieving Canada's 2030 emission reduction targets
- Gain insights into innovative tracking and reporting methodologies while identifying opportunities for aligning their strategies with national goals
- Development of comprehensive emission tracking plans that contribute to a sustainable future
- Implement and protect programs taking a SEEGP (Social, Economic, Environment, and Geo-Political) risk avoidance approach
- Understand the role of Quality Data at Source (QDaS)
- Integrating (Op/IT/Digital and Mobile) relevant technologies (current, legacy, and emerging) will enable and support your net zero programs and the oil & gas industry participation
- Governance, Relevance and Transparency reforms required for the Oil and Gas industry SEEGP / ESG and AI/ML net-zero activities.
Who should attend:
- Regulatory Authorities and Policy Makers who engage with oil and gas operators and environmental managers. Policymakers will understand industry challenges and practical issues in emission tracking and reporting
